U.S. housing starts in May were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.57 million, rising 3.6% above the revised April estimate and 50.3% higher than the comparable month in 2020. U.S. builder confidence for new single-family homes in June fell 2 points from May to 81, according to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).
