U.S. consumer confidence in July registered at 92.6, falling 5.8% from June, according to The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. The index measuring current business and labor market conditions increased 8.7% from June to 94.2, while the short-term outlook for income, business and labor market fell 13.8% to 91.5 in July. U.S. sales of new single-family homes in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 776,000, increasing 13.8% from May and 6.9% higher than the comparable month last year. The seasonally adjusted estimate of new homes for sale at the end of June was 307,000, representing a 4.7-month supply at the current sales rate.
