U.S. consumer confidence in September registered at 100.9, down 0.3% from September, according to The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. The index measuring current business and labor market conditions increased 5.8% from September to 104.6, while the short-term outlook for income, business and the labor market fell 4.4%% to 98.4 in October. Canadian Building Permits Up in September

Canadian building permits in September increased 17.0% from August to $9.45 billion (CAD) and were up 10.6% from the year-ago period.  September residential authorizations grew 6.9% from the prior month to $6.04 billion and climbed 17.4% from September 2019.  Single-family totals reached $2.75 billion, up 8.9% from August and jumping 24.8% from the prior year.
