Virtual Fall Meeting General Sessions and Committee Meetings Update
In lieu of an in-person Fall Meeting, CPA will host a series of virtual General Sessions and committee meetings exclusively for members beginning in mid-October. The first virtual General Session will be a peer-led panel titled “Navigating Business Beyond a Pandemic from the CPA Member Perspective” to be held on October 19 at 3pm ET.
Consumer Confidence Falls Further in September
U.S. consumer confidence in September registered at 109.3, falling 5.9 points from August and the third straight month of declines, according to The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. The index measuring current business and labor market conditions dropped 5.5 points from August to 143.4, and the short-term outlook for income, business and the labor market
U.S. Home Sales Drop 24% from August 2020
U.S. sales of new single-family homes in August were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 740,000, up 1.5% from July but down 24.3% from the comparable month last year. The seasonally adjusted estimate of new homes for sale at the end of July was 378,000, representing a 6.1-month supply at the current sales rate.
RV Shipments Shatter August Record
The RV Industry Association’s monthly survey of U.S. manufacturers reported that shipments reached a record high for August at 52,819 units, jumping 33.8% over the comparable month in 2020.
